Repositories of Wisdom

Meet Lindsay Fauntleroy!

Lindsay takes flowers seriously—not only because she holds a deep appreciation for their beauty, but because she understands their vast potential for healing the spirit, soul and psyche.

Although flower essences as tools for psychological healing play an important role in her practice, Lindsay’s work also draws from other Western, Eastern, and African Diasporic approaches to psychological healing. She weaves counseling, somatic embodiment, meridian therapy, archetypal exploration, guided imagery, meditation, personal spirituality and ceremony into her clinical work as well as her teaching and training programs. She is currently a doctoral candidate for a PhD in Depth Psychology with a Specialization in Integrative Healing Therapies. Her research explores the use of Flower Essence Therapy as a decolonial approach to psychotherapy. Her book In Our Element: Soul Medicine to Unleash Your Personal Power is available in English, Portuguese and Arabic in print, digital and audiobook formats.

We are delighted to welcome Lindsay as an adjunct presenter in our 2026 Practice at the Crossroads: Alchemical Healing Mentorship.

Her elective class—Blossoming the Soul: The Spiritual Intelligence of Flowers—will introduce participants to the fundamentals of working with flower essences and highlight key remedies to integrate into personal or alchemical practice.

With love, Lorie and Benjamin

Q & A

Q: Describe the moment you realized that flowers held a deeper invitation for you?

A: I don’t think there was a single moment when I realized that flowers hold medicine- there are so many moments where I am struck with reverence, and it all feels brand new again! But the more I practice this work, the more I recall childhood experiences—times when I had a deep relationship with nature and even conversations with flowers. What feels different now is that I used to dismiss those memories as just dreams or imagination. The deeper I step into this work, the more I recognize how close to the medicine I was as a child. Now, my practice is really about restoring and honoring that connection, in myself and in my patients.

Q: Introduce us to one flower essence that transformed you at a soul level?

A: Angelica flower essence is the medicine that has transformed me the most profoundly. I’ve worked with many essences over the past decade—both personally and professionally—but Angelica is the one that continually returns to guide me. Whenever I’m invited to do something that stirs up nervousness, whether it’s a podcast interview, writing an article, or stepping into a new level of visibility, Angelica reminds me why I’m doing this work. It brings me back into alignment with a larger sense of purpose and reconnects me with the task of restoring ancestral wisdom. It helps me shift from anxiety into a deeper, steadier presence where I feel anchored, guided, and protected.

Q: How does the African Diasporic approach to psychological healing influence your work?

A: African diasporic psychologies are eco-spiritual systems that hold a profound understanding of the relationship between the human soul and the soul of the natural world. We’re seeing a resurgence of this perspective today in fields like depth psychology and ecological psychology, but it’s important to remember that this is not new. These are ancient ways of tending to the soul. African diasporic spiritualities have long served as living records and repositories of this wisdom, preserving practices that understand healing as something rooted in both the psyche and the Earth. These spiritual systems are also inherently archetypal, which allows them to align beautifully with alchemical soul work.

Q: You were one of the early participants in the Alchemical Healing Mentorship and continued studying in the program for many years before joining as faculty. What would you say was your biggest AHA! moment in your work with Lorie?

A: I always return to the big ‘aha’ that anything that moves the Qi can be used as a needle! This insight has shaped my entire approach. It reminds me, again and again, to stay present to what uniquely moves the Qi in each of my patients—whether that’s a flower essence, a story, a ritual, or a moment of emotional release.

I can also say that during the alchemical mentorship, I engaged deeply with my own inner work, especially through dreams. The soul allies that emerged during that process continue to show up for me as guides. They help orient my practice from the inside out.

We're Loving!

Lorie: I’m loving learning about the Chimera, the mythical three-headed monster of ancient Anatolia, who symbolizes the emergence of impossible new possibilities in the intersubjective field!

Benjamin: The daily ritual of tending our wood pile and keeping the stove burning to keep us warm!

Lindsay: I am in love with the Flower Essence Community Clinic. We call it "Magic + Medicine", and that's exactly what it is. It feels like the right moment to work collectively as we bring flower essence therapy to our communities.

My memory of sitting on the floor in a circle is visceral. It was the first thing we did that morning - each person in turn, releasing their dream fragment into the center. I felt them find their place on an invisible scaffold and build up. I think I remember Lorie saying that we were creating an art installation. It felt like we were. Dream altars are a simple way to support the benefits of dreaming – having the dream, remembering the dream, sharing the dream, connecting day and nighttime...

Lorie and Benjamin embody the Maine lifestyle, from the images in this newsletter and the pictures of them in scuffed Blundstones on their website, to Lorie’s mention of their local food co-op below. But, this community spans the world! I live on the other side of the continent in another country and although we have been in the same physical space many times, our relationship is now entirely virtual – as is the one many of you have with them!
